The Wedding Of Madison & Mitchell Donnay
It was the first snow of February
driving slowly on our way to the wedding of Madison and Mitchell Donnay. The team consisted of my second photographer and first lady. And a few cameras. My wife Sonja’s first wedding as a photographer. but not at all inexperienced. Upon arrival to our church where the couple was held in waiting to each other. We moved to set up the three first looks.
First Mitchell and his best man, second Madison’s father to see her. and lastly, the engaged about to be married couple to meet. Upon freshly fallen snow, in the courtyard of Glencoe’s own St Pius X Catholic Church. The emotions were present, the tears seen by few. And the moments watching photographs captured.
We followed along. Taking grandmas favorite; a portrait in front of their church. Into the chapel we went, took some classic couples portraits, wedding party photos, and family formal photographs. We were aiming to get everything captured before their ceremony. A good move! After about an hour it was time. In positions and batteries lens changes and communications made. Also no hats are allowed in a catholic ceremony, accordeing to father its a sign of respect.
The processional followed, men and women waited for the bride Madison, full of emotion walking down the aisle. Met her man at the alter. Hands were shaken. hugs given, vows taken, rings exchanged, photos taken, kisses made, the announcement. walking away, couple greeting all their guests. What followed was much fun. A journey on a school bus through back country roads with beers and photos with the wedding party and Madison and Mitchell. Bar hopping, and Bottle Popping out in front of the bar they met.
Meeting back at their reception hall, we captured their grand entrance, photo dash to all the tables, group photos with all the guests. Dinner, speeches, and dancing insured. The end of our night was topped off with flash photographs outside on the doorstep of the Glencoe City Center.
The event all in all was one to be remembered, Mitchell and Madison are amazing people, down to earth and all about creating great memories. Their event went well, their ceremony happened without a hitch and these two got married! Also their photographs turned out well, reflecting the warm, earthly, love of a newly married couple.
